NATURE-INSPIRED PRECIOUS DELIGHTS

Fine Jewelry Designs
Roxan lovingly creates pieces that incorporate fine silver, gold, precious and semi-precious gemstones and whatever else inspires her with each new day. Her love of nature can be seen in her work through the use of leaves and images from her garden, to the swirling, organic shapes in her designs. She specializes in creating wearable works of art using eco-friendly, fine silver metal clay. Wherever possible, each piece has been signed and wears her blue monarch butterfly logo on the back.
Metal Clay (powdered metallurgy) is a relatively new art form for jewelry designers. It comes in a variety of metals and colors, but Roxan chooses to work primarily in its precious form of fine silver with occasional gold accents. Most of the silver used has been reclaimed from old photogarphic film and made into a clay form by combining the fine silver molecules with organic binders. At this point, Roxan shapes, molds and texturizes the clay into its basic form and continues to refine as it dries. Many pieces are created using leaves that have been pressed into the clay or by putting the clay into a syringe and extruding it into flourishes, or even meticulously hand-painted in layers, to create unique designs. Once dried, the clay is fired at high temperatures to burn off the binders and bond the silver molecules to come out of the kiln as pure, fine silver. After firing, traditional goldsmithing and beading techniques are used to finish each piece.
Most of her pieces are true one-of-a-kind designs, but there are a few that she is willing to re-create upon special request with the understanding that no two pieces will ever be the same and each piece will always have its own unique personality. Special requests may take up to 2-4 weeks for delivery and customization requests are carefully considered on a case-by-case basis.
