Scholarship Pageant Information
Open to: Marion, Monongalia, Taylor, Preston, Doddridge, Harrison, Wetzel, Tyler and Marshall counties, as well as West Virginia University and Fairmont State University students. Our Queen goes on to compete at the WVAFF pageant.

Areas of Competition:

Interview: Three minute panel style interview with questions from the contestant's bio.

Opening Number in green outfit of choice (group promo for Queen contestants only and text is provided prior to the pageant): Wear a green outfit of choice suitable for upbeat modeling and individual introductions. A white sarong prop is provided and is a gift to the contestant.

Evening gown (on-stage question for Queen contestants only and is provided prior to the pageant): This should be a formal evening gown of choice.

Additional Award Categories:
- Photogenic & Most Beautiful: These are selected by a Maryland photography club for each age division.
- Parade Personality: This is selected by volunteers attending the parade for each age division.
- Fan Favorite: This is $1 per vote and all the money raised is used to fund the Queen's $1000 Scholarship - the top fundraiser receives a crown. Money may be collected prior to the pageant or during the pageant. A table of volunteers will be at the pageant to collect the money and determine a winner from each age division.
- Congeniality: This award is voted on by the contestants after rehearsal.
- Leadership: This is given to the first to complete their registration in each age division.
Schedule of Events:

Sunday, August 6th: Contestant kickoff meeting, important pageant info and panel interviews at the Senator's Mansion (senatorsmansionwv.com) from 3-5:45pm with light snacks provided. This meeting is followed by a stage rehearsal at the nearby Mannington fairgrounds from 6-9pm. Bring stage shoes and signed paperwork.

Monday, August 7th: Parade line-up is 5pm near First Exchange Bank. Parade starts at 6pm followed by a brief on-stage introduction upon arrival at the fairgrounds.

Tuesday, August 8th: Pageant competition begins at 7pm. Contestants should arrive at their designated stage areas between 5-6pm.

Step 1: Print the paperwork below that applies to you. Sign it and bring it with you to the August 6th pageant prep event. Queen's contract will be notarized after the winner is announced at the pageant.

Step 2: Complete the online resume below. After submitting resume, click on the message to pay your fee. If you want to email your photo at a later date, please email it to: mcraig@seekingstarsart.com
Entry fees are:
- $125 for Queen (16-21) - at least 16 the week of the fair and no older than 21 on January 1 in the year following the fair
- $100 for Teen (13-15) - at least 13 and no older than 15 the week of the fair
Note: Check with pageant director if birth date is close, or within reasonable time frame of these guidelines, to obtain permission to participate.

Deadline to enter is July 25, 2023. We will fill up before this date, so don't wait! We will refund your money if you win another title prior to our pageant.
